Biden's agenda has taken some big hits, but he's winning the war for his party's future.
My latest piece is up in Politico Magazine, looking at how Biden in faring in his quest to return the Democratic Party to its New Deal roots. The shortest version of the story is: Manchin and Sinema have done a lot of damage to Biden’s agenda and the party’s electoral prospects, but Biden is winning the intellectual battle. You can read about how that’s happening and why it matters here.
It has been a busy week. Those of you who know me well know that I am a very committed Virginia basketball enthusiast. And so it was my very great pleasure to join the Streaking the Lawn Virginia sports podcast this week to preview the basketball season, which starts on Tuesday in Charlottesville against Navy. There’s a lot to look forward to in an unusual year for the Hoos.
Also, one of my old bands is responsible for the theme music. You can listen to the whole song here:
I don’t plan on running a ton of sports and music content here, but am open to being persuaded otherwise by particularly passionate readers.
Hope everyone is enjoying the fall. Here’s a photo of Pepper celebrating the foliage in New York.
